Charity Dinner 2015

Charity Dinner 2015

As his contribution to fundraising Duncan Turnbull chose to organise a charity curry night instead of using the traditional sponsorship method of raising funds for the TKPA.

The evening was a tremendous success, Spice One is a great Asian restaurant in South Shields and its owner Shah Amin and his team provided us with a great meal and service and also made a donation to Duncan’s fundraising.

The well-known local band The Waiters provided us with two great acoustic sets, donating their time for free or rather they sung for their supper.

The night raised £1090.00 for charity, the ticket price included a £10 donation with the rest being raised by a raffle, thanks going to those who not only took part but also provided some of the 12 prizes. One of the guests won 6 of the prizes though he had bought £15 of tickets.

We also had a game of stand up Bingo which raised £90 but descended into chaos mainly due to poor administration by myself with the assistance of Cobra Lager, oh and my daughter won the prize of a bottle of wine accompanied by the shouts of “fix” I would like to thank Duncan for organising the evening, his wife Julie and mine Kath for selling the raffle tickets and all our guests for making it an enjoyable evening.
